Cricut Ideas For Organizing & Brightening Up a Space
I have 2 very easy Cricut ideas for beginners if you have the supplies on hand! One is to help you in your quest for organization, and the other one is to brighten up a space that’s often neglected and quite frankly–messy & dirty.
Organized Chaos Meets the Cricut Maker
My husband is somewhat of a storage nut and likes to put everything away in bins; even the current season’s shoes so my kids and I are subjected to a daily game of hide and seek–groundhog day style.
Hubby took my constant complaining about the hidden shoes to heart. When he presented the big reveal of the garage makeover, he pointed out that we now each have our own shoe bin. The only problem was, you didn’t know which bin was whose.
It didn’t take too many brain cells to determine that the shoe bins needed name labels. I took out my Cricut Maker and got to work!
Vinyl to the Rescue for These Cricut Ideas
I pulled out my pack of EZ Craft permanent adhesive-backed vinyl in assorted colors that I purchased from Amazon just for spur of the moment easy Cricut ideas like this one. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve used this pack in the past for Cricut vinyl projects! It’s not expensive and has 40, 12″ x 12″ sheets of vinyl in assorted colors. Check it out here if you’re like me and like to have an assortment of vinyl on hand.

It’s All About the Cricut Fonts
I then headed over to Cricut Design Space to set up my project. I chose the Cricut Classic-Chunky font. This font has a playful look that I like. Plus, it’s super easy to weed–especially if you’re a Cricut beginner! This font is included with a subscription to Cricut Access. The names approximately 10 3/4″ x 4″. You can see the size of the bins a little further down. Also, I ended up using pink vinyl for my name even though my name is in purple in design space.
I have the Cricut Access Premium Plan for $9.99/mo. because it offers the most discounts and goodies, but the Cricut Access Font Plan is just $4.99/mo. for unlimited access to 400 beautiful fonts! Go ahead and check out Cricut Access Membership Plans if you want to learn more.
Also, you can visit Creative Market and check out all the fonts offered there. Having access to fonts like this popular fun font bundle — especially for my first easy Cricut project is invaluable because you get the rights to use them to make unlimited projects and products for sale (in case you want to make labels to sell on Etsy, on a Facebook Buy, Sell, Trade Group or to family and friends).
If you haven’t set up a free account yet at Creative Market, do so! They have 1,000’s of fonts and graphics for your projects. Plus, every week they offer six free items for download.
I decided to choose different colors for our names. Brightening up the garage and having some fun with it was my top priority. At the time I’m writing this, I have two of four bins labeled so far. Labeling a lot more bins (not just shoe bins) is top on my list. Maybe I’ll even include fun pictures on the bins too!

A Cricut Decal to Welcome Friends
Like a lot of people I know, our family enters the house through the garage. When my husband scrubbed the door from the garage to our laundry room as part of the garage makeover, it gave me an idea. So the second of my two easy Cricut ideas for the garage was to do “something” to the door.
Cricut Ideas For Beginners Are Abundant on Etsy
I remember seeing different front door decals on Etsy so I headed there to get some ideas. Browsing through the thousands of decals on Etsy, I came across this hysterical no soliciting door decal! Nevertheless, I passed on it since the door is in the garage. I checked out the different vinyl door decals on Etsy until I found an idea I liked. The word “hello” seemed appropriate and my project took shape!
I used the Elizabeth font, also included with the Cricut Access Plan. The hello decal size is 8.5″ x 5″. NOTE: If you’re not sure what size you want to make your labels or decals, check out Etsy where most sellers include the size of their labels and decals in their descriptions. As a Cricut beginner, this will help you size your own Cricut projects.
I added the decal right under the screen/glass part of the door and off-centered to the right. You can check it out below:
So there you have it! Two fun and easy Cricut ideas for beginners you can implement today if you have extra vinyl laying around.
