The other day I wrote a post about a cool tool I use when I’m out book scouting to help me decide if a book is worth buying to resell on Amazon.com. The tool I use is called Asellertool. This tool allows me to download an Amazon pricing database to a PDA (this can take between 10-30 minutes), hook up the PDA to a handheld scanner, and scan the barcode on the back of books, DVD’s, CD’s, and VHS to see if they’re profitable for me to sell on Amazon.com. Yesterday I updated Asellertool’s new software version that includes pricing for toys.
I’ve never sold toys on Amazon, except for some higher priced “toys” if you want to call the Tony Hawk Helmet Camera a toy, but I’m excited to use Asellertool to see if I can find any toys at my local haunts that are worth buying to resell.
I pay $30 a month to Asellertool as my subscription fee for using their software. Obviously, I need to cover my cost of the subscription fee to make using their service worthwhile. Selling toys in addition to books, should help me do that faster than before. Actually, the subscription fees that I pay to Asellertool, Stamps.com and Amazon.com can be covered with just a few good “finds.”
Here’s an idea…maybe the guys at Asellertool will barter with me: They can give me a free subscription to their service, and I will continue to write about the Asellertool software and how its helped my business.
Do you think this is a good idea? Please share your thoughts in the comments section below.
Sounds like a great tool and $30 a month isnt so bad, Of course, If you cover your cost of the subscription fee.
Thanks for sharing. I will check this out!
It’s such a cool gadget, Salwa, and it does make book scouting a lot easier. It is, however, an investment in the equipment as well as the $30 a month.
