Yasmin Anderson-Smith had always considered herself an engaged parent. However, as her three children entered adolescence she felt the constant demands that come with parenting and wanted to become more involved in her kids’ lives.
In order to spend more quality time with her children, this Jamaica native and Maryland resident knew she would need to take control of both her time and her destiny. The only way to achieve this was to leave her full-time job and start her own business. But what business should she go into?
On a visit to Jamaica she met a woman who was doing well in the image consulting business. As the woman talked about how pleased she was with her business, she inspired Yasmin to start her own image consulting company.
As soon as Yasmin got back to the U.S. she set about fulfilling her newfound business plans. After doing the necessary research and even traveling to Great Britain for training, she launched KYMS Image International. KYMS provides training and coaching in image, etiquette, protocol and professional development to individuals and organizations.
However, Yasmin still wasn’t satisfied. She wanted to provide a valuable service to young people, too.
